Where you move me most (2020)

Exploring the routes queer bodies take in enacting freedom, and the freedom to desire, the performance sees the coexistence of two characters who explore a myriad of sexual and gender identities within themselves as well as each other. They navigate spaces, from the nightclub to the bedroom, their gestures a reflection of surveillance and safety. The performance utilises phone screens, projections, CCTV cameras and staging to question the audience’s gaze, while concurrently offers vulnerability through the reading of ethnographic interview material, holding the public at close distance.

The performance was commissioned by The Substation for Septfest Fringe 2020 - In The Margins. Additional funding was crowdsourced through Indiegogo.
